Thoughts....

I have started the next CD. This time I promise not to take 10 years to finish it. The material has been selected and some rough tracking has been started. It's always hard to start from scratch but the process and the journey is beyond gratifying.
I've been waiting to do these tunes for a while. There is an eclectic mix of songs this time. Some of them inspired by my visits to Ireland with my wife. Her passion for Celtic music and the traditional Irish music I was exposed to have been a big influence on me the past five or more years. Hopefully that will be evident in a few of the cuts.
Tim Veeder will be joining me on another song this time. It's an Afro-Cuban thing with some time changes interwoven in the form. He will be playing soprano sax to my tenor this time. Should be fun as usual. While I'm on the subject of Tim, he is working on getting things moving for his first solo project. Exciting news! Also, we've been toying with the idea of doing a live CD sometime this year. We've done a few gigs together at 9 Maple Ave. in Saratoga Springs and have been inspired by the rough recordings we've done to actually do a live album of standards. More to come on that as we talk about it this summer.
Working on a few surprise guests this time out. Not going to drop any hints.
