A great end to a epic story.  I enjoyed it. I was more impressed with this movie told by the screen writers than the other two. I actually found a change in the tail that i liked. The role of the dead army ends in the book at the shores of Lebinin in the delta of the river Anduin. I always thought the circumstances would have warranted them participating in the battle at Pellinor Fields. I found the charge of the Rohorimm to be the most moving of all the scenes. The courage and defiance at the face of over whellming odds is very well portrayed. As before differences between the book and movie are so numerous that a full discussion would lead to a rewrite of the entire screen play,  that is beyond what I will comment on today.  I have begun to expect the complete dialog swap between Aragorn and Gandalf so that when Gandalf speaks one of his own lines I am surprised!  It is still as if a fit of opposite thinking or an attack of extreme dyslexia plagued the script writers. I did enjoy the end of  all things and  the trip to the havens. Some points that draw my attention follow.
  • The plan for the attack on the black gates is set forth by Aragorn instead of Gandalf.
  • The timing of the battle at Minas Trith with the breaking of the gate is a little off as the confrontation between Gandalf and the Witch King happens at the same time as the charge of the Rohorimm in the book.
  • Gandalf's explanation of the vision of what awaits those who die is the books vision of Valinor.  If we follow the script writer's lead the suggestion  that Valinor is heaven seems agreeable enough.
  •  The changing of the lighting of the fire that calls for aid is impressive but only serves to allow for the  many changes to the Steward of Gondor.
  • The halls of Denathor are very well portrayed as is the Tower of Ecthelion.
  • The appearance of Grond and its assault of the gate of the city is very well done.
  • The confrontation of the Witch King by Gandalf at the gates is troublingly omitted and the time line in the battle is radically different from Tolkien's book.
  • The Tower of Cirith Ungol is well done.
  • The change in the plot that separates Sam and Frodo is a Violation of the bonds of fellowship from the book. It is dramatic and well acted but in the end it cheapens the tale to entertain the movie goer when the directors thought the book un fit to hold their attention. The underlying flaw in the production of each movie was to second guess the quality of Tolkien's text.
  • When will the remake be made that is more like the book.
  • I will go on......
