Taken during the 1999 reunion, this photo is looking directly at the chapel's stone steps. They are there but very difficult to see. Look right in the center of the photo. The people are standing on the chapel pad. The photographer was probably standing in the street in front of the chapel.

I was totally disoriented when we got off the bus at the old camp. Nothing looked right, brush had grown up everywhere. Of course, I had left the camp 42 years ago in July 1957, before the chapel or Quonset Huts were built. I would have been lost even if everything were still there. I was amazed at how much vegetation has sprung up. Remember how absolutely barren the camp was?
