WSMM Opinion Fall 2018

Let's see what happens today (8/24/2018) in what appears to be an unstable social media platform (Facebook) for one or more reasons... Personally, I don't invest in Facebook but if I was an investor I would definitely be concerned.

WSMM Facebook page followers: Feel free to post to the page useful or interesting news items as it is set up for it. I'm not so sure as one of the admins that I personally will be actively maintaining this page as much as in the past given the platform censorship at times. I may complain about this and this page has engaged in it as well. Generally, it is to keep the page moving along with intelligent conversation and to maintain a civil atmosphere. Those who have been removed from the page are generally ranting party activists and those who have no intention of conducting an intelligent conversation in the first place. I waste little time in my personal life nor do I make a habit of it on the page either.

Enough research and information has been posted in the resource library for a voter to make an educated political decision regarding mining issues and the related politics involved behind them.

I would advise bookmarking that page as a resource if this social media page ceases for one reason or another. It is one of the few public Minnesota mining support pages out there however. Other support social media groups I am aware of are currently private in status so this page will remain as a supporter outlet being aware of that. That may change involuntarily being aware of the world we now live it as a people. My advice to socialists and communists is this: Be careful of what you are wishing for. Right now, it appears there are a few who have no clue whatsoever other than the raw desire for political power.

I believe as an admin what has been accomplished to date is somewhat useful as a public resource and page. We will see how it goes. I definitely know I've got other things to do with my time but here was a portion of the reasoning for this page to begin with back quite a few years now.

We have in Minnesota and particularly in the northeast sector of the state a natural resource based economy. We as a region and people had better understand that to maintain this region necessitates maintaining a functional economy.

In the past year I have become even more political with the page for basically relaying page and research conclusions.

The case I continue to make is that we have a State Of Minnesota political structure which currently is primarily of the Democratic party in bureaucracy and ideology. This has resulted in a system and process which allows legislation via sue & settle, obstruction via environmental extremist groups & wealthy hedge fund managers who are funding the politicians in the Democratic party,  obstruction and delay at every turn whether it be mining, farming, forest management or pipeline development. Permitting in many cases now is measured in decades rather than 3-5 years as in many developed countries. Government overreach has become an engrained and institutionalized problem. There is no current path for mining friendly legislation with a Democratic governor or two Democratic senators. We have lip service as standard operating procedure for these politicians. Not all democrats are lousy politicians, many are. The problem remains the overall party line vote and party policy which override any of the good ones.

The reality for the people of Minnesota is that these are the adversaries we face to the economy of Minnesota. It need not be an adversarial relationship but this is how it is portrayed by extremist groups in the state for political power positioning.. How many tourists drive by a mine in this state and are still unaware of even its presence? Indeed, a fair number I believe. The current mining industry is modern and highly regulated. It is not as portrayed by extremist groups. Issues may occur in mining. We correct and move on as in any industry or we cease to have the public trust and license to operate. State and federal oversight agencies are multiple and many. That also is a reality.

Given this general outline I ask the people of Minnesota this:

Do you wish to solve these above political and economic issues or do you not?  The end results of inaction are obvious and particularly observable in northeast Minnesota with continued population loss and contraction of communities. This results in government attempting to maintain services with a declining income base upon which to draw. Schools continue to consolidate.

If any of the above is not a concern to you, move on now. Don't waste your time reading further.

My analysis of all of this leads myself that without adequate political leadership the continued Democratic party leadership in this state will result in continued negative opportunities in the region and state for ourselves, our children and future generations of Minnesotans. In short, find another state to live in that will be conducive to a functional economy. Currently, many students are trained here only to move away. The Democratic educational support is here, they have that right. The political support for a functional economy they do not support.

Here are my suggestions for the future voter of this state. Simply, vote Republican and remove the issues described above from political office in this state. The alternative overall Democratic party policy has decided that the mining and natural resource based industries are generally not worth the effort for Minnesota due to political, party and hedge fund manager financing reasons.

So, time to move on somewhat for myself at least. I can not speak for other admin staff of the page and will not do so.

I'll stop in periodically or maybe post something. I would suggest to users that if it is useful to you, continue to post news items to the page as that is primarily the page focus for the most part. When the media fails both in source and in political bias (6 companies controlling 90% of national new sourcing), there is a need for some alternative outlet. Leave the ranting elsewhere, engage in thoughtful agreement or disagreement, when it comes to swearing or insulting you have lost any debate and it becomes a matter of time management.

I still do not like to waste my time.

Best wishes in your future political deliberations and voting. Make a deliberate effort to understand your present and future time frames.

These are my conclusions and opinion of the direction this state needs to proceed in.
