Ingredients:
Dry extract from leaves of Artichoke-Family Plant (Cynara scolymus) 0.25

Supposed Action:
Polyphenolacids present in the dry extract from artichoke plant are thought to facilitate bile excretion from the liver. Research has shown that the levels of some fatty compounds present in the blood serum were effectively decreased.  In particular, the decreased serum levels of triglycerides, free fatty acids, cholesterol, and beta-lipoproteides were observed. 

Summary of Clinical Studies on Cynara scolymus Extract and on Active Ingredient of Cynara scolymus:1,4-Dicaffeoylquinic Acid:
- exhibits antilipolytic effect both in vivo and in vitro 
- has inhibitory effect on cholesterol synthesis in liver
- helps detoxification in carbon tetrachloride poisoning
- improves a spontanic diuresis 
- lowers cholesterol and fatty acids fraction in serum
- prevents arteriosclerosis
- recommended as detoxification agent in carbon sulfide poisoning
- lowers triglycerides fraction in serum
- improves chronic alcoholism-induced hypertriglyceridemia
- is very well tollerated in animal and human studies

Side Effects:
None known.
Nonetheless, should a person who took Cynarex® tablets experience any unusual symptoms or allergic reaction, the use of the supplement should be stopped at once.
