Usability of Web sites is
important whether a site is providing e-commerce, entertainment, or
information. Web-Based Educational Activities (often referred to as Web
Quests) provide interactive content
and information. Thousands of new web sites are appearing on the Internet
every day, most of them created by well-meaning people, and many of them
created by teachers to enhance their curriculum and lessons. However,
creating web pages does not require a degree in web design. Programs to
create web pages are fairly inexpensive, and anyone with internet access
can easily become a web publisher. Unfortunately, a great deal of the web
sites on the internet are created without much, if any, regard for how the
people viewing them will actually USE them.
