Elmendorf AFB

As of 1 Dec, 2004, here are some of the 35mm Alaska slides which I have scanned to digital. These are some of aircraft that I saw at Elmendorf. While at Elmendorf, I worked on C-130, C-141, and C-5 aircraft. Even though most of my time was spent working on Nav systems for the C-141s, I did not take photos of them. I don't know why:

Me sittin' in a C-5 engine intake:

A flock of choppers fly over. I have no idea why choppers would be flying in formation over Elmendorf:

A strange looking C-135 passed through:

Another shot. I don't know what this plane was for, but I do know that it had a crew of about 50....:

A general shot of the flightline at Elmendorf. The Chugach mountains in the background always made it photo-worthy:

Another general flightline shot. The Herc parking area from a distance:

A view of the flightline early in the morning. Fog and cold grip the area:

This was an odd happening. Some high value intelligence individual was being brought back to the USA from capture, and he passed through Elmendorf. I don't remember who it was, but it was a big deal. I believe it was one of those USA / Roosky spy swaps. I snapped this pic out of curiosity. Word quickly spread that I had a photo of this guy and the news folks got hold of me because they wanted to buy the pic. Turns out that they could not use it because I was using Ektachrome(???????????).........:
