Welcome to Laura's page!

Updated October 31, 2009 - Have a Safe and Happy Halloween!

The Future of Kilarc is being discussed at Meetings, Meetings, and More Meetings

The Save Kilarc Committee won't have further input at the FoCCP meetings until after the FERC has issued its draft Environmental Assessment (Notice of Availability due on January 29, 2010) - be on the look-out for how you can participate!

What, When & Where Next?    CCWMG November 12 Meeting (always the 2nd Thursday of the month unless otherwise noted), agenda not yet posted but I've been informed that Davis Hydro will be providing an update on the P-606 License Surrender Process.

Many of us attended the FERC Scoping meetings and site visits the week of October 19. Davis Hydro and Steve Tetrick each made presentations during the site tours describing details of their fisheries habitat enhancement proposals for the Old Cow/Kilarc and South Cow subwatersheds, respectively.

Comments have also been filed with the FERC after the meeting by Davis Hydro and Tetrick's Attorney , noting that the fish resource agencies should not be permitted to ignore these alternative proposals.

FERC must also consider the detailed comments on the scoping document provided by Davis Hydro and Tetrick/Abbott Ditch Users Representatives that provide arguments for their respective alternatives in writing. I can't make it through these 30-odd page documents, but it's clear to me that both groups are putting a lot of expertise and effort into our common goals, and I believe it will pay off! Kelly has promised to update the Process and Status page on the Kilarc.info website soon, to keep us informed of progress.

What else has the Friends of Cow Creek Preserve (FoCCP) Done Recently?

The October 24, 2009 Poker Ride Was Great Fun!    No one got hurt, but FoCCP was prepared after purchasing insurance - that also protects our Board Members. We will be seeking more participation with our elections coming up soon.
