The Pleiades Star Cluster M45 "The Seven Sisters"
400mm f/5 Orion Short Tube, Fuji 800 Super G Color Negative Film, 15 Minutes
Undoubtedly the most famous galactic star cluster in the heavens, it is easily visible to the naked eye and has been regarded with reverence since antiquity. Located in the constellation Taurus, it is about 410 light years distant. Many of it's 11 brightest stars are 10 times larger than the sun, and 1000 time more luminous. A longer exposure (planned for future work) would reveal blue reflection nebula enveloping the cluster.
