Week 16 (August 22-28, 2005)

Now we’re on hold waiting for the metal roof to be completed by the manufacturer.  Don’t ask me why it wasn’t ordered before they needed it. In the meantime, I’m getting panicky that fall is rapidly approaching, and half of my house has no siding. So Joe and I set out this beautiful Saturday morning to get some siding up on the house.

I have to admit that I’m an annoying helper. I ask a lot of questions and want to make sure I understand the logic behind everything.

So Joe was quite relieved when our neighbor Mike (with son Michael) and friend Dom came by to help.  How’d we get so lucky?

The siding looks gray because we bought it pre-primed. Helps a lot on the front-end, and it’s really not any more expensive than the raw siding. At the end of the day, several beers and pizza slices later, we were 90% done with this side of the house. Yay! Joe was out of town most of the week, so this one day was all the progress that was made.  But it’s definitely a step in the right direction!
