Always ask for a certificate of insurance- no liability insurance or workmans comp could end
up costing you a lot more than the cost of the siding job.
Ask for references.
Compare out of the area prices with local prices, and beware of come-ons like were looking
for a few show homes or senior discounts. You might be surprized that those discounts are
really not discounts at all.
Most siders are paid piece work, and the faster they put product on, the more they make.
A lot of the time quality suffers for that speed and if you hire out of the area they may never
come back to fix their mistakes. If you purchase the siding, make sure the salesman who
sold you the job comes back to collect. If he won't and says the job foreman will collect
right when they finnish, red flags should go up. If the sales rep is too busy to come back, do
you really think they will service you after the fact?
Warranties are important, but if that is all the salesman talks about beware. A lot of
promises are made, but if the salesman doesn't bring up potential problems or inspects the
job thourghly, can his crews deliver?. Make sure all work to be done is put into writting. If
hidden problems do arise, what extra costs may be involved? Hourly rate plus material?
If you sign a contract in Minnesota know that you have three working days to rescind that
contract under our states buyer remorse law.
Mixson Siding & Windows wants you to know the facts. Be smart, shop wisely, and know
