Classic Neohomes and Neohomes 2.0
Outside - Inside - Gardens - Furnishings - Pets - Links

This page is primarily for those who are in some confusion about the different types of neohomes, Classic Neohomes and Neohomes 2.0. It is not a guide to Neohomes 2.0. See the links section for more information about the new homes.

This page is mainly a visual comparison. For a more in depth comparison of many features of the two types of homes, see Right vs. Might (also know as Classics vs. V2) by lady_ruyven (chaotizitaet).

Keep in mind that, although anyone can create one now, Neohomes 2.0 are still in beta testing. The final release may be different than described here.

You can build both a classic and a 2.0 home on the same account. You can also build both types on side accounts as long as all the neopoints and items come from your main account.

Your Lookup

This image shows what the neohome box on your lookup will look like if you have only a classic nehome.

The information includes your home's street address, an image and name of the land where it is located, how many rooms (including gardens) that it has, and what extensions have been purchased for it. (Note that this is the only place extensions appear; they do nothing to your neohome.)

Clicking on the address at the top of the box will take you (and others) to the guest view of your neohome.

This image shows what the neohome box on your user lookup will look like if you have both types of homes.

Clicking on the image will take you (and others) to the guest view of your 2.0 home. Clicking on "Visit my Classic Neohome" will take you (and others) to the guest view of your classic home. (If you don't have a classic home, that link will not appear on your lookup.)

(Note that only black house items which have a brown box around them in your inventory are ready to put in 2.0 homes. The others will be eventually.)

2.0 items can also be purchased from the Superstore, which is accessed from the Neohomes main page.

2.0 items can also be purchased from the NC Mall, which requires neocash obtained by buying neocash cards (with real money).
In classic homes furniture can be rotated by 10 degree increments.
In 2.0 homes furniture can be rotated by 90 degree increments only.
Items in classic neohomes can be combined and stacked to make other items.

Pets
Pets cannot go into Classic Neohomes.

Pets can be placed in Neohomes 2.0. They have the same pose as on their lookup, which cannot be changed. They will include any wearbles that they can wear or hold (not backgrounds, trinkets, thought bubbles, etc.). If the wearables are animated or sparkly they will appear that way in the new homes.

The size of pets in the new homes varies. Chomby/Elephant/Grarrl/Skeith are quite large. Koi/Jubjub/Quiggle are quite small. Here are some examples.

Pets cannot be rotated and do not move about or sit.

There is an option on the 2.0 menu to add Petpets, but it has not been activated.
