Chapter 12

Under Their Skin

We thought her story on here concluded her dealings with BBAS.

We were obviously wrong about Janet Ostrander.

On March 25, 2006, Janet sent us the following email and attachment stating: attempted to retrieve the $1,500 that BBAS was willing to give....attached is the response to my signing the "contract".

Re: Building Blocks Adoption Service, Inc.

Dear Ms. Ostrander:

I received a letter of communication from you containing an unsigned and partial return of the Release and Confidentiality Agreement that was mailed to you some time ago.

It is unclear as to why you have returned this document at this point in time.

Please note that Building Blocks is aware of the posting and your involvement with the same in Google and on the web site of Dan and Elizabeth Case.

As a result, it is believed that you are in violation of the spirit of this agreement.  Further, you did not return an executed copy of the document.

So that it is clear, Building Blocks has no intention of entering into this agreement with you.

If you have any questions or comments, please have your attorney or yourself contact me at your earliest convenience.

Very truly yours,

Richard J. Marco, Jr.

cc: BBAS

We were unaware Janet had mailed the Release to the defeated Richard J. Marco, Jr.  He must have been as astounded as us to receive the Release for the paltry $1,500 refund.

Ricky’s letter is a hoot. How did BBAS find Janet Ostrander on Google when we changed her name? If they had Googled Janet’s real name, they wouldn’t have found her on our site.  What a riot and a load of rubbish.

Janet’s experience on this site was discovered, obviously, by a former, Case-hating, -baiting client. And we know who it is.  Do we need to mention names here? The wife’s work IP is enough to identify her.

Scumbag Marco’s letter is proof BBAS monitors this website.  By the mere mention of our names, we indeed have our pound of flesh. But not our money, just like Janet Ostrander.

The last BBAS refund we knew of was $2,000, refunded to a returning Bulgarian client. After waiting over a year with a completed A Child’s Waiting homestudy, updating documents and going for needless fingerprinting appointments, these clients threw in the towel. They were never given an explanation as to what the hang ups were in  Bulgaria.  They never received a referral, never went on a first trip.  They were devastated for they had so wanted to bring a Bulgarian sister home for their Bulgarian son.  After some initial back and forth with Richard J. Marco, Jr. they were refunded $2,000.  They wanted the Program Fee of $3,000, but accepted $2,000.  This was only only after they threatened to go to the ODJFS, the Arkon BBB and put their story on this website.

In the end, they felt lucky to get $2,000 returned, but still feel BBAS did not earn that money. They are not happy with the agency. Which is sad because they were very happy with their son and BBAS at the time of his placement.

Janet scratched her head in amazement at this letter, as did we.  However, Janet is happy that her story is up here for all to read.  She said in another email dated the same day: Stupid is the word ... but actually we are one up on them because we know now that they’ve read what is out there on Google and on your site! and ... they CAN'T stop us from telling the truth of how they run their “business.”

And we will continue to tell that truth, for more of the truth is coming out daily. Daily.
