Who Is BBAS, Really?

A Critique of BBAS’s unofficial response to this website

We know who Building Blocks is.  Problem is, do the uninitiated know?  Building Blocks doesn’t want them to know who they are, so they obfuscate.  Grab a bucket again folks! See what they say, and then read what we have to say about what they say.

1. Educate families on the adoption process. Because the best adoption journey is an educated one. We begin the education process from the first moments we meet you through seminars, webinars and phone conversations. We strongly believe in educating the families before, during and even after their adoptions are complete.

Should really read: from the first moment we meet you, get you to sign our contract and pay our application fee, we’re going to forget your name.  The only education you’ll receive from us is in how to take your money, crap all over you and send you the bill even IF you get a referral.  After your child comes home, will continue this education by haranguing you for post-paid homestudies which the foreign government may or may not want.  But you’ve paid for anyway.

2. Be upfront with families. As an adoption agency we will not benefit by telling families false or misleading information. The adoption process can have ups and down and no one can predict what will happen, but being honest with our families is the best policy we can have.

OMG.  OMfG.  False or misleading information.  We just can’t get our minds around this phrase.  False.  Misleading. Information.  With Building Blocks IT’S ALL FALSE AND YOU WILL BE MISLED IF YOU EVEN ASK FOR INFORMATION.  The adoption process is going to be mostly down once you sign the contract. Get used to it.  Unlike BBAS, we can predict what will happen with your adoption once the contract is signed.  The only “honesty” you’ll get from these profiteers is in their contract.  Read non-refundable in every clause having to deal with fees.

3. Come to work each day for the children. We are passionate about what we do because every child deserves to have a loving family and a chance to hope and dream.

Yeah, they’re really “passionate”. Daniel & Elizabeth & Anguel Case have a dream too.  It’s a simple one. Yet a humungous one: NEVER HAVING ONE MORE CHILD PLACED THROUGH THIS ADOPTION AGENCY AGAIN.  As far as we are concerned, NO child deserves to be placed through this adoption agency.

4. Our job doesn't stop with the placing of children into families. Traveling to the foreign countries shows us that the need begins before the children find loving parents. The orphanages and baby homes are always in need of supplies and better equipment. That is why a portion of our fees goes towards humanitarian aid in foreign countries to improve living conditions for all children.

Do they know where the need truly begins?  With first parents.  That’s where.  Touting all of the supplies that have allegedly been donated (god knows how much siphoned off to staff and the directors) to the baby homes & orphanages is crass.  How about supplying money to first parents to have decent childcare so these families can raise their own children instead of having them stolen or being paid for them?  What a concept.

5. All children are God's children no matter where they were born. God plays a part in adoption. While many families enter into adoption through a loss of not being able to have their own children or additional children, we believe you were chosen to make a difference in the life of a child. There is a reason you are looking into adoption, your child is out there possibly waiting for you to make the decision to adopt!

We may agree on this.  God played a part in our adoptions with this horrid agency – make no mistake.  HE obviously led us to BBAS so we could stand up and report on the profitable pain such people as Denise Hubbard, Richard J. Marco Jr. and their foreign contacts have caused adoptive families and our kids.  There was a reason we adopted, and yes we were chosen to make a difference in the life of a child – in spite of Building Blocks Adoption Service, not because of them.  God does work in mysterious ways.
