Well I have been searching
for my best friend/lover/mate for a long, long time.
When I learned about internet sites for people looking for a mate,
I began an incredible journey of getting to know about the female.....
and about me too!

For about the last 10 years, I have met many, many women.
I developed many relationships and got close to some.
I even almost got married a couple of times.

The Internet Personals is a great way to get to know someone.
You can dig deep into their minds and talk about very private
issues since you are only typing back and forth in the beginning.

I like laying everything out on the table for the lady.
Basically telling her my negative side or things that might be different than the normal guy.... Since I not exactly your typical single American male. That way if there are things about me that
don't work for her, we don't have to waste a lot of time for nothing and can go our separate ways.

I've always been attracted to smaller darker ladies although I also just like females in general, hehehe! I like dark eyes and hair and especially Asian women. Something about them is very attractive.

I had all but given up on the prospect of a woman in my life. Both because of them and because of me. I was frustrated and was thinking I was totally happy with my life as it is..... why change it?

But there was still a desire to be with my mate, best friend and lover. So I thought, What would I like as the perfect mate? If cost didn't matter and time and energy were not an issue.

I thought with what I had seen and learned about Asian women, that this would be the way to go. Not an American, but someone who still had the Asian culture in their blood and respected the ideals of their parents, yet was living in the now..... maybe liking rock n roll and having a young spirit. With modern ideals and dress to fit into the USA lifestyle.... and mine too, of course!
To much to ask for? Hmmmm.....
So I went online and did a search for "international personals Asia."
And the plot thickens!

This beautiful Filipina is young in body but old in spirit.
She comes from a place where you have to fight for everything you get.

Lorna is a happy girl and laughs and smiles alot. Her smile makes my day! I'm always cracking jokes to get her to laugh, hehehe!
And she loves music! This is important to me since I've been a musician all my life. She's always singing and listening to music. A lot of rock "n" roll and christian music.
Lorna is Christian, but is also down to earth.... meaning she realizes that there is a life here on planet earth and she has a good idea of what is spiritual and what is material.

Lorna is 5ft. 5 in. and slender. Very attractive and easy on the eyes. She dresses in shorts or jeans and a t-shirt. Running shoes or sandals. Very causual.... like me! :-)

She graduated high school with honors and put herself through 4 yrs. of college to teach.

Well, I think Lorna should write some things about her interesting life. But she has a hard time writing her thoughts down.....
Unlike me, hahaha! So I will ask her to get this going......

More soon!

I was online at a really nice international personals site called Cherry Blossoms and had already communicated with 3 ladies, but they didn't work out. I had just paid $20.00 for another month and was looking around for more possible connections. All of a sudden the Blossom chat window popped up and a lady named Lorna from Cebu, PI was asking if I would like to chat.

Normally I said no to the young ones in their 20's but for some reason I decided to quickly look at her personal. Well she was gorgeous and had some nice things to say in her ad, so I accepted her invitation to chat.

I asked her if she had seen my personal ad and she said yes...... and that is why she contacted me.
okayyyyy......
We hit it off right away! She was delightful and polite and seemed very interested in me. We then decided to go to Yahoo messenger where we had more ways of communicating.... with web cam, voice chat, etc.

At yahoo, we decided to become friends and I was not really thinking of getting serious with this young girl. She had such a nice smile and was always laughing and saying nice things to me.
We decided to talk again. It didn't take long before she was liking me a lot. I was liking her too, but experience has taught me to be careful, go slow and watch out for hidden motives. But, in the meantime, I was really enjoying her. Her English was surprisingly good and communication seemed real good.

Well, after a couple of days of chatting, she said she thought she was falling in love with me. I told her not to fall in love with me because that would not allow her to think straight and it was important right now as we were getting to know about each other, to be clear headed and aware. I said it was ok to love me but don't be "in" love with me. She understood and said she would try. I told her I had love for her as well but was not in love with her.

Then, after a few more days we were enjoying each other so much..... I didn't know what to think! She was so sweet, and seem to understand where I was coming from as far as my lifestyle, personality and even my walk with God. How could this young sweety understand me so well. Weird! AND..... She was VERY attractive!

The more we talked, the more attracted I was becoming to her. And she seemed totally gone over me. Let's face it..... I'm not exactly "Mr. Stud Muffin" if you know what I'm saying. But, she saw my inside first and that really impressed me.

As we began getting closer, we went through a little of the jealousy stuff but then I told Lorna we needed to pray for God's will in this. I said if God doesn't want us to be together then I don't want it. She agreed and ever since that day, and putting our relationship into Gods hands, the jealousy part just disappeared. And this whole time has been very positive for us and it seems like God is ok with all of it.

After 1 month of yahooing everyday for at least 1.5 hrs.... we were in love. I bought airline tickets online and the wait began. I was scheduled to go in 90 days. This would give us more time to see if how we seemed to feel about each other was for real.

Well our feelings only got stronger as we were getting closer and to the trip. And when we got to within 3 weeks of me flying there, we both got anxious and excited..... and nervous. This brought us even closer as we leaned on each other for support.
Time for a little trip? :-)

Now I am Mr. Planner
and it was time to make a plan. I had been reading everything I could find on passports, visas, Cebu, the country, the culture, you name it I looked for it. I spent many hours doing my homework since this was going to be a BIG MAJOR change in my life..... and Lorna's.

Since we were getting to a point where we would make a major commitment to each other, I wanted to make sure we had everything covered. I then decided that when we meet in person, if we felt the same towards each other as we felt online, I would as her to marry me. Then I would come back home and start the paperwork for the fiancee visa.

So I was off to Grants Pass to the city hall to apply for a Passport. Grabbed my VERY OLD birth certificate and some money and headed out. This was a no pain issue. Filled out a form, gave them my birth certificate and 100.00 and that was it. Passport arrived in the mail about a moth later.

The flight tickets was a different situation. I called an agency in Medford that I had used in the past. They gave me a quote and then I went online and spent some hours checking out a bunch of places there. Ay first the price was under $1000.00. But as I waited, the price kept going up. Within a couple of weeks the price had jumped to 1,400.00. And that was still booking 3 months in advance.Wow!
So I found this place and was actually able to talk on the phone to a human being. Alex was very nice and he did some research and called me back. He found an intinerary which would allow me to leave from Medford, but..... it ment 4 flights.... 5 airports.... EACH way! Ugh!

Now it was almost time to go!
Break time....more coming soon!

Well, my good friend Don came by
at 1pm to give me a ride to the airport. I don't leave until 5 but he had things to do so I was there early. That's ok, I already thought of this travel fiascal as a nightmare anyway..... Since I hate leaving my home, traveling and planes, hehehe! So The nightmare just started a little early.

After hanging at the Medford airport for a few hours, I boarded United Airline's "Air shuttle" plane. This thing is very small as I would find out.
I got stuck in the VERY front seat next to the window. No room at all and me being "big" didn't help. After about 2 minutes I told the guy next to me to get out of the way I was getting out of there.
I forced my way through the oncoming passengers and made my way to the airplane door. Wow! Fresh air!

I told the lady I could not sit in that seat. And she said, "Well, what would you like me to do?"
I said, "Well I need to trade a smaller person for an isle seat. Then I left the plane and stood down by the guys loading the baggage.
After everyone was onboard I walked back inside and the lady had moved the guy who was next to me in the isle seat and I got his seat.... and she just put my bag and another bag in my old seat.
That worked great because I had the isle now on one side and my legs could stretch. Wow claustrophobic to the max. Now I know!

The trip to San Francisco wasn't to bad and only took about 1.5 hrs. But the plane was noisy and vibrated like crazy.
Oh well it's only a nightmare right?

Ok, we landed in SF airport and I decided to go to the counter and see if I could get an isle seat. But when I got there, I found out that United had changed the schedule of my flight to Los Angeles over a month ago. I had no idea about this so now I had to take a flight an hour later than what I was supposed to. This would have been fine EXCEPT, now I would arrive in LA at 11:15 pm and my flight to Singapore leaves at 11:30! So I tried to communicate with this United lady and she said it was out of their hands! I finally got her to care and she gave me a couple of 800 numbers but they didn't help.

So now I'm getting spaced out and Mr. worrier is starting to panic.
Everyone I talked to said I could never make it to the Singapore Airlines terminal from the United terminal in 15 minutes. Turns out the LA airport is so huge that the Singapore terminal is about a mile from the United terminal.

Well, I had to go for it..... no other choice! Maybe the Singapore flight would be delayed or something. I was hoping I could run all the way and get there in time....... No way!!! I made arrangements with the stewardess so I could be the first one off the plane to get a head start.

But man! it turned out that I could only run for about 10 seconds with my two bags and then just walked fast for a minute. Not good!

I got to the Singapore terminal at 11:30. I walked up to the huge counter but no one was there and it had all these closed signs hanging all over the place.
But at the very end of the counter a guy was helping a new girl learn some stuff. I ran up to him and said, "I'm late for my flight!" He said, "What time was the flight?" I said 11:30. He said, "Oh. that flight is already gone."

I said, "So what do I do now?" Then he helped me and was very nice. He gave me a new flight for 1pm tomorrow and didn't charge me anything. Very cool!
Except, Now I had to wait 14 hrs! And I really didn't want to go anywhere for a room and spend the extra money. And I was so tired from running.

So I found a place where others also seemed to be waiting, and grabbed a couple of chairs and tried to stretch out and sleep. Had my Cd player and headphones so at least I had some music.

This was all pretty tough but hey, Just a nightmare..... right? Jeeeesh! I kept thinking, Gotta go through hell to get to heaven! And God was on my mind a lot which made everything much easier to cope with.

Ok, the sun came up and thte airport began filling up with people. I still had a couple of hours to kill, so I went looking for batteries for my CD player. Found those in an airport shop. Waaaay expensive. So was bottled water. Man, try to avoid having to buy ANYTHING at an airport! I went to the MacDonalds walk up and grabbed a burger.

Finally, the Singapore Check-in opened up and I went and got in line. Only 2 people ahead of me. I was hoping there wouldn't be an issue with my schedule change.... New day.... new guy to deal with. Well, he questioned the note in the pc about my flight change. Then he said I should have been charged a schedule change fee. I said the guy last night said there would be no fee. The guy mumbled something and gave me my boarding pass. Whew! I'm close now! Just need to get on the plane and everything would feel better.

I had no problems going through security and even got an isle seat. Got on the plane and off we went!
There's more to this story.....Stay tuned!

YES! Finally here! What I went through to get here actually made meeting Lorna a simple task. I'm sure she was really nervous though. It was very easy going through customs except for the broken English. I made my way to the airport entrance but didn't see Lorna. Hmmmm..... did she over sleep? Maybe she wouldn't show up, hehehe!

As I walked towards the exit door, I saw her coming from the right on the sidewalk. Was that really her? Oh yea!!
I walked out the door and we walked up to each other and smiled and laughed. Our first hug was like fumbling the ball to her, hehehe...... but it was great holding her. I squeezed her arm and ask, "Is this really Lorna?" We laughed again and headed toward the curb where a taxi was waiting for us.

At this point, I was blind to everything but Lorna! She was beautiful! She wouldn't look at me at first because she was being shy. That was soon to change though and we became close very quickly. I had sent her money so she could already have a bunch of pesos for us to get around. She was in charge of the money stuff. And she did a fine job!

Just a note that the weather was HOT and MUGGY! About 85 degrees F. the whole time and VERY humid! I just couldn't get used to it. Luckily my room had AC.... :-)

So we jumped into the taxi and she told the driver where we were going. Everytime we made contact with others...... she would talk in her language. Even when they saw I was American and tried to talk to me, their english was so broken I had to let Lorna take over the conversation. It worked out ok, but by the end of the trip, my brain was dead from trying to keep up with the broken english conversations I was in..... or tried to be in, hehehe!

More Later!!!

Saying goodbye was not to bad since I was going home..... yeaa! I mean I would certainly miss my sweety, but I was VERY homesick, and missed my house, life, cruiser kitty, and ENGLISH!!!

We were there at the airport early and sat around holding each other. Not to much to say. We took some photos and then I went into the room to check in. After about 15 minutes, I went back into the waiting area and sat with Lorna until it was time to go. We kept it simple and hugged and kissed and said goodbye. I turned and off I went.
More coming soon!
