written by Doug Flowe

Ubi Soft is bringing the elite team of U.S Army Green Berets back to the Western Hemisphere and a few years into the future in Island Thunder. 2009, Castro is dead and Cuba's new democracy is being disrupted by drug warlords. The Ghosts are sent in to eradicate the coup and secure the free elections for the people of Cuba. Regardless of your political beliefs this should make for one exciting game. The tropical, mountainous and urban Cuban setting should bring much needed diversity to the game and make this sequel well worth the price of a new DVD. While none of the realistic elements that gave the first game a steep learning curve have been changed (which can be a good thing) fans will be happy to know it's the same old game.

Unfortunately, there have been no improvements in managing your squad or in giving orders but there will be 8 new single-player missions and 12 new multi-player maps including 4 from the original Ghost Recon. The playable level at the show was beautifully rendered and showed the variety of terrain that can be expected in Island Thunder. The mission took place on a beach rimmed by towering mountains and speckled with tropical trees. New multi-player modes include Hamburger Hill, Search and Rescue, and more.

Great character models and lighting earmark the series.

Blood red sunset means more blood shed.
