Fairmont Foods of MN is fortunate to have a management team with many years experience in the manufacture of frozen foods. Having been trained in this facility, many witnessed the development of the first boil-in-bag entrée, the first steam table tray for foodservice, the first hot meal to be boarded upon an aircraft, the first upscale premium frozen dinner at retail, to mention a few.
All of that knowledge and expertise carries forward to today where we have earned recognition as one of the most diversified co-packer’s of frozen prepared foods in the industry. Our portfolio has included such names as Weight Watcher’s, Pillsbury, Marie Callender Retail Foods, Redi-Serve, Jones Dairy Farm, Ore-Ida, Schwan’s, Jimmy Dean Foods, Fazoli’s and Luigino’s to name a few.
Our original plant covers 170,000 square feet and is a USDA facility. It was the first plant in the upper Midwest to function under a TQC format. As a co-packer, we are audited by as many as 6 different services per year and have maintained an Excellent rating over the past 5 years.
We have an in-house lab that monitors all incoming ingredients as well as all in-process products and finished goods. A six-month library sample is maintained on all finished goods. All products are cleared micro-biologically prior to being released for shipment.
In October 1993, we purchased a 350,000 square feet processing
facility from United Foods, which is adjacent to our property. At
present, we have renovated 135,000 square feet of freezer space and 40,000
square feet of dry storage space.
