Two Huey slicks of the 192nd AHC
The photo depicts a flight of Second Flight Platoon slicks over Phan Thiet
Airfield carrying an element of the 3/506 that had been extracted from the
field in March 1969. ( Note the legs of a "grunt" dangling out the door
just above one skid of the slick in the foreground.) There's a good view of the
192nd AHC area below (still "tent city") and a hazy silhouette of Buddha
Mountain on the horizon to the west. The surrounding terrain is lacking
any sign of greenery since we were in the middle of the dry season (which
seemed to be the case more often than not!)
