LZ ( Landing Zone ) Betty, Phan Thiet
This photo shows LZ Betty, and Army Airfield in 1968.
The runway runs through the upper center. The South China Sea
shows in the uper right corner, with the 192 AHC maintenance
area just below. The revetments for parking the Hueys of the
192nd are just on the other side of the runway, with the tents
just above.
The area right in the center, with a high berm, is the ammo dump
for the 3/506/101.
The only permanent buildings on the airfield at the time were at
the East end of the runway, to the left. The runway was at 070 and
250 degrees, and most of the year the wind was straight down 07.
