Vietnamese children at a Polecat Huey

A much more interesting scene took place about one minute after this photo, when I had to convince the boy that the trade of my helmet for his red hat was only temporary!

Only a few of our aircraft had skunks as nose art. Obviously not this one. Does anybody remember the tail number or crew chief's name?

While flying missions for MACV ( Military Assistance Command, Vietnam ), we frequently would shut down near or inside of a village while the Province Chief or Senior Advisor would confer with their troops.

Children would frequently swarm to the aircraft to sell things, ask for candy or cigarrettes, or just to visit.
