The Big Event: Surgery

Here I am sitting at the Ronald McDonald House two days before surgery having a cup of Chai Tea. I'm in my Princess Jammies and I'm already hooked up to my food pump for the night. See my Teddy Bear tattoo on my left leg?

Here I am recovering from surgery. I'm in the Pediatric Observation Unit and I'm now laying on top of Nana after laying on top of mommy for ten hours. This is the position I want to be in and all I really want to do is sleep. I'm hooked up to many monitors, including the one on my finger that makes me look like Rudolph (or ET).

Here is my incision. It goes from my right hip bone at an angle to my groin and then down my inner thigh. It's eight inches long. Those are steri-strips on top of the incision.

I got discharged from the hospital and Daddy called just as we were walking into our room at the Ronald McDonald House. Was I ever happy to talk to him and tell him I was out of the hospital! Don't I look cool sitting in my stroller talking to my daddy on mommy's cell phone?

After being discharged from the hospital I was quickly up and trying to walk. At first I needed my mommy's help--it just gave me more confidence. It wasn't long before I was all over the place by myself! See my new Blue's Clues shirt I got from the Ronald McDonald House? I LOVE it!
