Times are kind of crazy now that the school counselor has been murdered by one of the students in the 'Adventure Club.'

That is the scenario in this year's Lake Placid High School Drama Club's audience participation murder mystery "Half-Baked Homicide". The murder mystery production is set for a September 27, performance, with a show time at 7:03 p.m.

The murder weapon of choice in "Half-Baked Homicide" was fruitcake. Ironic, but not ironic (ha ha) if you are trying to figure out who was crazy enough to do in Faith Deeds. Crazy is kind of relative when you think about it. As relative as your Uncle Juno, who likes to brag about his dryer lint collection. The Adventure Club is a euphemism for the counseling group that sorts out problems for students who are related to guys like Uncle Juno. The fact that Uncle Juno is the mayor -- as well as your uncle --- does not make life easy for anyone.

Someone is responsible for Miss Deeds demise, but everyone is acting as innocent as the driven snow --- driven from the Olympic Center to the snow display out front.

With no solution in sight, the superintendent has elicited the help of the Crossword Puzzle Club (XWPC). It is obvious that the superintendent is new or has never seen the XWPC in action. The XWPC might be excellent wordsmiths when it comes to puzzles, but when it comes to solving Miss Deeds death, they are more suspect than solution.

This is where the audience comes in. They will travel around Mirror Lake in the official detective limousines (school buses) to the clue sites to interview the characters. If you aren't the talkative sort, you can still sit back and listen to the fun. Upon the audience's return to Lake Placid High School they will enjoy dessert and hopefully some justice as they turn in their guesses of who they believe committed the crime.

Those with the correct deductions will have a chance to win prizes donated by local merchants.

As with past shows there will be famous walk-ons and lots of local humor.

The play is directed by Peggy Plank and the original script is by Gem*Boy.

Be sure to fill in a spot on your calendar for September 27, to see this fun in the Lake Placid High School Auditorium at 7:03 p.m.
