In April of 2002, I was asked to give a pre-concert lecture for the Genesee Symphony Orchestra. The orchestra performed in Batavia, N.Y. and I spoke before their "Pops" concert. I prepared a talk and got up in front of about 500 attendees in the audience! Reports are that some people actually listened!
For
the past three semesters, I've been invited to teach a seminar on film music
to students at Monroe Community College here in Rochester. I used audio clips,
sheet music, photographs and of course, video clips of movies such as Laura,
2001: A Space Odyssey, and The Bride of Frankenstein!
