 'Battle of Setauket' rock

There is a fairly famous painting of this rock by William Sidney Mount

The good guys fought from the rock. The British fought from the area of the Presbyterian church

For those of you, like me, who drove by this year after year and never noticed it. It is between the Setauket library and the old Setauket Post Office, on the same side of the street as the library

If I've got it correct the rock (and the ground under it) was owned by Susan (Sukie) Davis' Stepmother, who donated them to one of the many local Historic Trusts.

 Commerative plaque on the rock

 Caroline church

 Presbyterian church

We also have a picture of Caleb Brewster's house (bottom of the hill, just before you get to the Country Corners, on the other side of the road, on 25A in Setauket) but it's in my wife's camera and I haven't downloaded those yet.
