Narrative
; I can find no direct record of John's death, however he shows up last on the 1880 census. The 1890 census is not available as it was mostly destroyed by a fire in the Commerce Department in 1921. In 1890 John would have been about 72 years old, we can assume that he died near this age as living much beyond that age was rare in the late 1800's. I further assume that he died in Laurens county SC as it was his last known residence.
