Narrative

There is some confusion with the maiden name of Mary. She is listed in the obituary of her daughter, Mamie Miller Hayden, as being Mary Elizabeth Beddingfield but I can find no evidence of such a person. I do however find the death certificate for Mary E. Miller living in Laourens SC, at the time of her death, the informant on the death certificate is G.A. Miller and is listed as being buried in the Watt Mill Cemetery. All of this corresponds to our Mary Elizabeth, however the death certificate says her maiden name was Jayson. I do think this is the correct person as the place she lived matches, the death certificate informant appears to be her husband George Addison Miller and she is buried in the same cemetery as our Mary's husband, George. It is very possible that Mary was married befor she married George A. Miller and carried the surname of her first husband as her middle name. In any case I believe this to be our Mary Elizabeth.
