Mrs. Minnie Alexander
Funeral services for Mrs. Minnie Lee Brown Alexander, 62, wife of J.P.
Alexander who died at a local hospital on Friday night following a
brief illness, will be held at the chapel of the Thomas McAfee funeral
home at 2:30 o'clock Sunday afternoon. Rev. Edd Harrison will officiate,
assisted by Rev. Rev. Paul Beacham, and interment will be in Graceland cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Allen Hart, Maynard Spearman, Bailey
Willis, Melvin Allen, Elmer Smith and Floyd Bailey.
Mrs. Alexander was born and reared in the upper portion of the county
and her parents were the late Terrell and Thersa Bailey Brown. The
greater part of her life was spent in this city, her home being at
38 Gentry street.
She was a member of the Holmes Memorial church.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by one son, David Alexander;
three step-daughters, Mrs. Allen Hart, Mrs. Grover Poole and Mrs. Maynard
Spearman; six step-sons, Leland, Walter, George, Frank, Bert, and Robert
Alexander, in addition to 47 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
One sister and four brothers also survive, Miss Hattie Brown, David Brown,
Robert Brown, J.D. Brown and Junior Brown.
The body will remain at the funeral home until the hour of the service.
