Gordon C. Hayden
Funeral services for Gordon C. Hayden, 20, who was fatally injured in an automobile
accident early Monday morning near Renfrew store, will be held this morning at 10:30
o’clock from the Camp Creek Baptist church near Tigerville, the Rev. D.W. Bragg
officiating, assisted by the Rev. O.H. Tollison.
Interment will be in the church cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Aubrey Hayden, Albert Pittman, Edwin Pittman, James
Cleveland, Blane Hightower, and William Henry Cleveland.
The honorary escort will be K.B. Keisler, Robert Sizemore, Charlie Fisher, Ralph Ellis,
Troy Tripp, amd Jack Bates.
Mr. Hayden was born and reared near Greer, the son of J.C. Hayden and the late Elizabeth
Pittman Hayden. The family resided in Greenville for a number of years, having moved
in the Travelers Rest section ashort time ago.
Surviving are his father, J.C. Hayden, two sisters, Misses Lorrain and Lola Mae Hayden,
Travelers Rest; and two brothers, Alvin L. Hayden, Slater, and Billy Hayden, Travelers Rest.
Pending the hour of the service the body is at the residence of Mr. Alvin L. Hayden, 23
Lindbergh street, Slater.
