PICKENS, SC - Aaron Philip Stone, 70, of Route 1, Pickens, in the Midway community, died
Saturday at 3 a.m. at a local hospital after three years of declining health and a few hours
of illness.
Born and reared in Pickens County, he spent most of his life in the Pumpkintown and Midway
communities. Son of the late Aaron and Sarah Evans Stone, he was a textile worker and a
farmer. He was a member of Holly Springs Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Rhoda Reeves Stone; a daughter, Mrs. Evelyn McJunkin of Pickens;
a son, J. P. Stone of Route 1, Pickens; a sister, Mrs. Bessie Stephens of Six Mile; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 3 p.m. at Holly Springs Baptist Church by Rev.
Frank Looper, Rev. Arthur Trotter, and Rev. H. A. Newton. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Leroy, Wesley and Marty Stone, Edward Stephens, Leroy Reeves and Lloyd Stansell.
Honorary escort will be the Men's Bible Class and deacons of the Holly Springs Church.
The body is at the home. Clayton - Dillard Funeral Home is in charge.
