Devoted to Hines and related lines in America

Welcome to Hinesite!

I am doing research on the Hines family, who came to America from Germany sometime after 1844. At the time of immigration, the family name was spelled HEINTZ. The family settled in Paw Paw, Michigan. One of the branches moved to Chicago, Illinois and another moved to Akron, Ohio, then to Penn Yan, New York.

While I have lost track of much of the original family, I do have information on the first few generations.

The major family lines I am interested in are Hines, Cover, Rudd, Earl, Christ, Kuch, and Nothhard. Many of these families have direct ties to Germany.

Families from England I am researching include Tuttle, Cooper, and Whitcomb.

If you have information about these families, belong to one of the lines or would like information or documentation not contained on these pages or have a ink that should be added, please contact me at dwhines@frontiernet.net. I would love to hear from you.

Other sites of interest on the web include the Yates County GenWeb the Monroe County Gen Web and The 35th Photo Tech Unit of Guam during World War II. It was the unit that Charles W. Hines served in.

On March 15, 2001, new information was added on the Nothhard Family in Germany!
