Ken Whytsell is probably the first person in our office that you will meet. He is our office manager, but that title fails to describe Ken's role in our office. He handles a wide variety of tasks, including data entry, ordering supplies, answering phones, working on deeds, and keeping everyone's schedules up to date. Not only does he keep everyone else on track, but he does it all with humor and grace. Ken is a lifetime resident of Grantsville and graduated from Calhoun County High School. He started working with us in January 1996. He has an associate's degree in Paralegal Studies from Fairmnont State College and is working toward a bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, also at Fairmont State. Shelia Burch has worked for us since 1986. As our law practice expanded, Shelia's role evolved from office manager to legal assistant. Through experience, she gained extensive knowledge in the areas of divorce, personal injury, real estate and probate. She is available to help clients when immediate needs arise, handles day-to-day contacts with clients, and works closely with Loren to handle each client's needs. Shelia also takes care of some of our law firm management tasks, such as personnel and payroll accounting. Shelia is long-time resident of Calhoun County. She graduated from Calhoun County High School. Shelia earned a bachelor's degree with high honors from Marshall University. She is a member of Legal Assistants of West Virginia, an affiliate of National Association of Legal Assistants. Shelia is dedicated to service, not only to our clients but also to the legal profession. She has presented state-wide seminars on Litigation Case Management for the West Virginia Paralegal and Paralegals in Family Law Practice. Shelia is married to Cleo Burch and they have two children, Jamie and Holly. She has many family ties in this area, and has been deeply involved in community activities for many years. She is presently a member of the board of directors of Calhoun County Parks and Recreation and the board of trustees of Mt. Zion UM Church. Bill Howley is our other legal assistant. He does our real estate title examinations and other record room research. Through his business, Bill Howley Research, he also provides accounting and business development services to for-profit businesses, non-profit businesses and state and local government. Bill has a masters degree in business administration from Ohio University. His broad range of business experience is a valuable resource for Loren when she provides legal advice to businesses. In addition to his real estate and business paralegal work, Bill also manages all the accounting for our office. If you haven't guessed already, Bill is Loren's husband. |
