Crawford Creek Recreation Area
Crawford Creek Recreation Area is a modern 260 acre park located 3 miles south of Battle Creek, IA. Established in 1975, the park has become an oasis for those seeking a quick get away or a weekend retreat. The 62 acre Crawford Creek Lake is abundantly stocked with largemouth bass, bluegill, crappie and channel catfish. Any size motors may be used on the lake, but must be operated at a “no wake” speed. A concrete boat ramp, fishing jetties and docks all help provide a way for the angler to wet his line. To many, the most beautiful spot in the park is the campground. Overlooking the Crawford Creek Lake, our camping facilities have proven to be some of the finest in northwest Iowa. The view is spectacular. Your camping stay will include electrical and water hookups, sewer dump station, and a clean restroom and showerhouse. A primitive camping area is also located nearer the lake for those who don’t require the modern conveniences. Sorry, we don’t take reservations for camping. For those who may not like to “rough it” in a tent or camper, the Crawford Creek camper cabins are a must! Located on the shoreline of the lake, these cabins can provide the camping atmosphere with the comfort of a real cabin, complete with air conditioning, microwave, refrigerator, table and beds. We’ll even provide your own semi-private dock: perfect for watching the sunset.

Our enclosed lodge is a popular place for family reunions, weddings, anniversaries or other larger gatherings. Located overlooking Crawford Creek Lake, the shelter will easily accommodate groups of 75 and includes restrooms, fireplace, refrigerator, kitchenette, tables and outdoor grills. See our section on 2008 rates for more information on renting the lodge. Our goal for your visit is to provide entertainment for the entire family.
