There’s good news about John today. His tumor markers, which measure chemicals/toxins produced by the tumor, are down to 132 from 397 at first diagnosis and 500 a month ago. The c.t. scan shows shrinkage of the primary tumor, no new seeding and no visible fluid in the abdomen. The liver, spleen and esophageal artery appear enlarged and need further testing to see what’s going on there.
In the meantime, John will continue with the chemo protocol he has been using because it seems to be working. This protocol involves him receiving chemo once a week (Thursdays) for three consecutive weeks, and then one week off. And although John & Martha are going to San Francisco tomorrow (Oct. 6th) for a consultation with a national expert in pancreatic cancer, in all likelihood, there will be no change to his protocol as both oncologists (here in Ventura and in San Francisco) recommend the same approach.
Thank you for your continued support, love and prayers.
Love, Martha
