Hello And Greetings From The World Of Orlantia

If you've linked to this location you are looking for the HTML AD&D character sheet. This character sheet can be viewed with a browser, and properly manipulated, the source code can be easily passed around to your DM and other players if so desired. However, one must either have a basic understanding of HTML code, or failing that, know how to use a word processor to manipulate text.

Basically, you are to link to the HTML Character Sheet below, copy the source code into a file your word processor can handle, and manipulate it for your character by adding the TEXT to the appropriate areas or by REPLACING Text. For example, you can either go into the code and type the required text in the right areas, or you may view this blank sheet with your browser, see what is written there, like weapon01, and have your word processor replace weapon01 with Longsword, or whatever else you may wish your character to have.

When finished, your AD&D character will be in a more universal format that your DM or anyone else may easily look at with their own browser.

The reason I have done this was simply because I am a DM using irc chat rooms to play and run games and I wanted a more universal format for the character sheet. Also, I wanted that information displayed more consistently and in the same order. Thus, if all players did this, or if the DM does it for them and they simply maintain it, the DM has an easy to see electronic character sheet for each of their players. This is important in an irc game since, unlike in a RL face to face game, the DM has limited contact with the player and less opportunity to see character anomalies and correct them. If all characters are in the same format, these misunderstandings and mistakes are more easily avoided, or failing that, more easily found and corrected.
