I got the idea to do this from Guzzle's Powerstroke Tech Page.  Well, apparently this has already been implemented in the 2004's, or someone has already done this to my truck because the new slide pins looked the same as the ones I removed.  I figured it wouldn't hurt to replace them so I did anyway.  Here's a few pics of the process.

Disassemble the brakes all the way to removing the caliper mounting bracket.  You can see this process described in my ball joint replacement article.

Remove the slide pins, taking note of which type goes in which bore as they are different.

Here's the original slide pin.  As you can see, these pins are the same as those in the kit.  Maybe Ford made these standard by 2004, or maybe my truck has already had this upgrade?

Once the old pins are removed, I used CRC Brakleen, a scotchbrite pad, and a small screwdriver to clean out the bores.  Repeat this step with a soft rag in place of the scotchbrite to dry out the bore.

Here's the new slide pin kit, part number 2C3Z-2C150-AA.

Install the small rubber piece on the appropriate pin and lube both of them with a suitable brake lubricant that can handle the high temperatures generated by the brakes.  A thin coat will do.  Use a cotton swab to apply a little grease down in the bores as well.

I used the grease that came with my Hawk pads.

Insert the pins into the bores and slide them in & out (while twisting them) a few times to evenly distribute the grease.

Then remove the pins, install the new rubber boots, and reinstall them in the caliper bracket.

Here's the finished product.  Reinstall the brakes, also as described in my ball joint replacement article.
