The "Cold AC" upgrade is a popular mod in the Ford Super Duty truck world.  This is the process of placing a valve (manual or vacuum operated) in line with the heater hose that feeds the heater core.  By not allowing hot coolant into the heater core, the air blowing across it (for AC) will end up much cooler.

My AC works good but the few times it got up to around 100deg outside, it struggled quite a bit.  I was hoping that this mod might help enough to bring it back into shape at those temperatures.

Unfortunately, I didn't do a lot of research of my own truck before buying the kit from dieselsite.com.  When I started to install it, I found that my heater hose already had a valve in it.  Upon contacting Bob at dieselsite.com, he said that it was likely doing the same thing that his kit would do.  So, I checked it and indeed, the valve is in one position for all heater/AC settings except "MAX AC".  In MAX AC, the valve moves to the other position.  Bob was kind enough to allow me to return it for refund.  So, I can at least say that the customer service at dieselsite.com is top notch!

I only threw this page together in hopes that it might save someone else from wasting time gathering parts.

Here's the valve I mention above.
