"Great weather!"
May 17, 2003

It was just time to get away.  There were no winter climbs.  Again.  And another year of deep snow falls.  There was some hiking time to make up.

No special stories or events.  Just a good trip and a relaxing dinner afterwards.

One item of special note:  the weather was great.  Probably some of the best to be expected at any time of year.

Their objective: Mt. Colden

Around 3500' the group encountered lots of snow and its runoff.

"Are we there yet?"

Just can't seem to keep his cloths on.

Food is a must have item on these trips.  Calculations have been run by the engineers in the group: no one is losing weight on these trips.

Almost there!  But it looks so far.

The snow keeps getting deeper.  They let Joe lead.  He, of course, then does all the post-holing.

"Watch your head."

"Who brought the beer?"

"Wow, Joe that was a pretty quick ascent."

"Yeah, Sherry.  I think this new hat really helped increase my climb rate."
