Phillies 13 - Charlotte 14

Game 1 was a sloppy 14-13 loss at home to Charlotte. Leading the way for the Phillies was Mike L. with a triple and a great catch in center. Tyler smashed a long home run to right. The Phillies were victimized by 11 walks which lead to their relinquishing a 13-6 lead. Murphy, Charlotte’s 2nd pitcher had blazing heat and struck out 7 of the 9 Phils that he faced. With nine returning players and 3 strong newcomers, Coaches Sapienza, Laistner and Collichio have high hopes for the ’09 season.
