Phillies 27 - Giants 6

The Phillies continued their memorable hot streak with a 27-6 romp over the Giants to win the championship. Austin threw 4 strong innings with 4 strikeouts to get the win. Dan added 4 Ks in 2 innings and Mike L. closed it out in the 7th. The Phils ripped 23 hits lead by Nick with 4, and Roger, Austin and Mike D with 3 each. Strong defense was again evident as the Phils committed but one error. The play of the day was Mike L. throwing out a Giant batter at first on a blooper to shallow center to complete a rare 8-3 assist. The Phillies won their last 7 games by an aggregate score of 124 to 29. Of special note, the Phils scored at least one run in the final 21 consecutive innings that they played. After the victory, Coaches Sapienza, Laistner and Collichio awarded the Championship trophies to the team. The coaches were very proud of the effort, the heart, and continual improvement shown by the team. Special recognition goes to Roger, Tyler, Dan, Nick and Aaron, the players who completed their third season with the team.
