The Phillies clobbered a quality opponent, as all phases of the game were strong. Roger pitched 4 strong innings, fanning 8, while Austin retired 6 of the 7 Giants he faced. The Giants managed just two hits. The Phils whiffed a season-low 5 times and hit the ball with authority. Roger scored 3 times and added a pair of hits, as did Austin and Mike D. Colby turned in the standout defensive play at 3rd by grabbing a deflection off Roger and gunning the Giant out at 1st by a ½ step. Dave executed a perfect cut-off to Austin holding a long Giant blast to a double. Phillies have outscored their opponents 111 runs to 35 and their record now stands at 7-2.
