Pony League Cubs

The Cubs faced a solid A’s team Saturday and immediately fell into a 5 run hole. Colby had some control issues. Jake came in to relieve in the top of the 1st and had to leave after the mound after experiencing shoulder soreness. Tyler entered the game and pitched 4 superb innings, shutting down the A’s. The offense slashed 7 hits led by Jakes 2, including a two run double. Mike D and Roger also belted doubles.

Dan came in to pitch 1 2/3 innings but struggled in the top of the 7th. With the Cubs hanging on 10-8 Mike D came in to close it out with runners on 2nd and 3rd. His second pitch was ripped to right . Dan raced back and made an outstanding catch to save the win for the Cubs.

Tyler earned a great win with a gutsy performance and Mike S did a fine job behind the plate. The other highlight was a 6-4-3 double play turned in (Austin to Mike D to Jake).
