The Ice Bats flew to a 3-0 victory over The Cows last night, for the second career shut-out of goaltender Thom "The Hawk" Hokanson. Dazzling play by Bob "I'll play one game" Wiley, who scored two goals, and Jerry "Dino" Shurhamer enabled the struggling Bats to bring out the branding irons on The Cows.

Mark "The Lip" Novak played superb defense and had a chance for a shot on goal as time expired waiting for an injury situation with Mike "Payday" Fay to clear up. Duane "Killer" Koshiol, Bud Bakkonnen, and Paul E. Dangerously were seen in Adrian's after the game.

General Manager Jim "Sweet One" Lemire was called for a penalty near the end of the first half for being in the crease in the Bat end of the ice. Lemire reportedly has been notified by on-ice coach David "Fargo" Hanson that he wants to be released from his contract for next season to pursue other interests. This may have caused Lemire's concentration to wander during play as he was clearly not heeding the ref's call of "Red, get out of the crease", which was shouted several times before the penalty was issued. Hanson, noticeably absent because of a "scouting" trip, has also been seen with executives of other broomball teams recently, leading to speculation that Hanson may be shopping himself around to other clubs.

Ross "Baby" Hedin, sat down due to injuries making room on the roster for Wiley and Jeff "Cocoa" Cowan, who played well at both ends of the ice.

Jared "and the Argonauts" Agerter and Troy "Treadmill" Woods also played well, clearing the zone and setting up Bat rushes. Woods, has a local fan club raising funds to help buy him a new pair of jeans.

Next week's game is fan appreciation night and also the last game of the season with Pete "Underdog" Overgard funding a fireworks display.
