Adrian's Ice Bats took advantage of their opponents shortage of
players and lack of motivation by flying to an 8-1 win over the Cedar
Inn. The Bats actually received a forfeited win, but played the game
anyway, surrendering two key players to their opponents--Duane
"Cheese Factory" Koshiol and Troy "Treadmill" Woods.
The Bats were looking sleek in the old "DSI" jerseys, which will
be replaced next week with the new team jersey, featuring the Ice Bat
logo.
General Manager Jim "Check Bounce" Lemire was seen in a dispute
over suite boxes and concession rights with Adrian's owner and
financier of the Bats.
On-ice Coach David "Where were you playing?" Hanson, said after
the game, "the referee really smelled funny, didn't he?".
Newcomer to the team Ross "Hide-the-Ball" Hedin, played
admirably, although was given some grief regarding the Inn's lone
goal.
Equipment Manager Mark "Shutterbug" Novak commented on the fine
play by the Bats, "It was too easy. I think we would have been better
off with a greater challenge the first time out".
