Adrian's Ice Bats scored against an opponent not worthy of being in the same league as the Bats. Paul E. Dangerously scored on a beautiful pass from "Jumpin" Jim Lemire after Lemire tracked down an errant Inn pass and started on a breakaway toward the Inn goal then dropping the ball back for Dangerously, who put a shot through the goalies legs. "It was the best play of the season", shouted David "Hurt-me" Hanson, "I've only seen it done better in cartoons".

On the other end of the ice Thom "Pin-cushion" Hokanson deflected shot after shot. "We're getting an estimate from TV crews on hand as to how many shots went in our net. They need to review the film to make certain.", said Bob "I'm just a Consultant" Wiley. The problem with the confused state of the final score goes back to fan appreciation night where broomballs were given away to the first 1,000 fans. "Every time the Inn players came down the ice, our fans started throwing their give-away balls at the other team, of course, some of the balls deflected into our goal. I can only stop two or three balls at any given time. I think that only two or three of the goals were actually shot with the game ball".

Upset with the poor officiating, Cris "Hit Man" Holst, Duane "Killer" Koshiol, and Pete "Pop" Overgaard shouted colorful metaphors throughout the evening.

Jim "#1 fan" Moir was on hand and had encouraging words for the Bats, "these guys are as bad as the hockey team".

The Bat season ended with a 2-3 record and General Manager Lemire dubbed Equipment Manager Mark "Neon" Novak as Equipment Manager of the Year and also distributed the end of season award for Rookie of the Year, which went to Ross "Baby" Hedin. Hedin has been sidelined the past two games with injuries.

Next season, the Bats hope to improve on their record and go above .500 for the first time in team history.
