DAVIDS FALL AND FORGIVNESS (2SAM 12:1-14)

1CO 10:12 Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.

REV 2:4 Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love.

REV 2:5 Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.

1> THE NATURE OF DAVIDS SIN-

1. He was guilty...

But what started David's sin--- (A LOOK)

Eve saw before she took--

Lot looked toward Sodom--

His wife looked back--

(In GEN) (Sons of God saw the daughter's men)

2> THE FRUIT OF IT... (V14)

3> THE CONVICTION OF IT... (V.7)

David thought he HAD IT HID...

Nathan didn't beat around the BUSH.

This arrow shot strait to the heart.

ACT 2:37 Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?

4> THE CONFESSION OF IT... (V.13)

David made no excuses...

Blames no one else...

When we discover that WE HAVE SINNED AGAINST GOD)

LUK 15:18 I will arise and go to my father, and will say unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and before thee,

PSA 51:4 Against thee, thee only, have I sinned, and done this evil in thy sight: that thou mightest be justified when thou speakest, and be clear when thou judgest.

5> THE FORGIVENESS OF IT.. (V.13)

lJO 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

MIC 7:18 Who is a God like unto thee, that pardoneth iniquity, and passeth by the transgression of the remnant of his heritage? he retaineth not his anger for ever, because he delighteth in mercy.

1. It was IMMEDEATE..

2. It was COMPLETE.."THE LORD HAS PUT AWAY THY SIN".

JOH 1:29 The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.
