PAULS 3 MEN (1CO 2:9-16 3:1-4)

 

  1. THE NATURAL MAN (V.14)
    1. He is not a converted man "Receiveth not the things of the spirit.
      1. He may be a religious man.

        2. Jas 1:26 If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man's religion is vain.

        2Ti 3:5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

      2. May be a educated man. (Paul was)

        3. Ac 22:3 I am verily a man which am a Jew, born in Tarsus, a city in Cilicia, yet brought up in this city at the feet of Gamaliel, and taught according to the perfect manner of the law of the fathers, and was zealous toward God, as ye all are this day.

      3. Has no spiritual life.
      4. He is without God.

Eph 2:12 That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world:

 

  1. THE CARNAL MAN (1COR 3:1-4)
    1. He may be a Christian. (1cor 3:1-4)
      1. He is like a child. (v.1 Babes in Christ)
      2. He doesn't grow spiritually. (v.2 fed you milk)
      3. He is more fleshly than spiritual.
      4. He is attached to this world.

Ro 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
    1. He can cause a lot of trouble because he is letting God lead him.

      2. 1Co 1:10 Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment. 11 For it hath been declared unto me of you, my brethren, by them which are of the house of Chloe, that there are contentions among you.

    2. He produces very little good fruit.

Heb 5:11 Of whom we have many things to say, and hard to be uttered, seeing ye are dull of hearing. 12 For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat. 13 For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe.

 

THE SPIRITUAL MAN (1CO 2:9-16)

    1. He is led my the spirit.

      2. Ro 8:14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

    2. He is not of the world. ( Spiritually minded )
    3. He is not understood by the world.
    4. He has the mind of Christ.

      5. Php 2:5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:

    5. He seeks the deeper things of God.
    6. He is productive for God.
