1. In Peter's case it was pride (v.29)

Joh 21:15 So when they had dined, Jesus saith to Simon Peter, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me more than these? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my lambs.

Pr 16:18 Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.

Ps 73:6 Therefore pride compasseth them about as a chain; violence covereth them as a garment.

Pr 29:23 A man's pride shall bring him low: but honour shall uphold the humble in spirit.

Peter would not lessen to the lord.

Mr 14:30,31 And Jesus saith unto him, Verily I say unto thee, That this day, even in this night, before the cock crow twice, thou shalt deny me thrice. But he spake the more vehemently, If I should die with thee, I will not deny thee in any wise. Likewise also said they all.

But what are some other things?

2. Disobedience--- (Jonah was willing to let Nineveh die!)

Jon 1:1-3 Now the word of the LORD came unto Jonah the son of Amittai, saying,

Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and cry against it; for their wickedness is come up before me. Jonah could not run from the presence of God.

Ps 139:7 Whither shall I go from thy spirit? Or whither shall I flee from thy presence?

3. Persecution
