THE BEST COMES LAST: John 2:1-10

I. IN CREATION THE BEST CAME LAST

1. In the Genesis account of Creation the beginning was a sad condition. "And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep." Genesis 1:2

2. The first step was the moving of the Spirit.

God said, ''Let there be light, and there was light."

3. Man was the crowning work of God's creation,

the joy and the pleasure of God the Creator.

Ge 1:27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

Eph 2:10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

II. IN ATONEMENT THE BEST CAME LAST

1. John 1:17 "For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ. "

2. Jesus was the best God had.

"But when the fullness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law. To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons." Galatians 4:4-5

III. IN ACCUSATION THE BEST CAME LAST

1. Satan must have gloated over the victory, when they took the body of Jesus and placed it in the tomb and placed the Roman seal upon it.

2. This may have seemed like the end, but not so, for the best came last.

As the women went to the tomb early in the morning seeking the Lord to anoint His body, they met an angel that said, "He is not here, but is risen.

3. The best came last when Jesus came forth from the grave as the Conqueror of death, hell and the grave. - Revelation 1:18

IV. IN SALVATION THE BEST WILL COME LAST

1. There is a real joy the moment we are saved, the burden lifted, the sins forgiven and our name written in heaven.

2. Even with the trials, persecutions and opposition of the devil, the Christian life gets sweeter each day. God has not promised us deliverance from sorrows and troubles in this life. Therefore, like all others, we ate confronted with them everyday.

3. Iris still worth it all to be saved, even though we do suffer; but we repeat, the best comes last.
