WHEN GOD SHUTS THE DOOR (REV 3:7-8)

We need to remember: God has control!

The door is Open

1> HE CAN CLOSE THE DOOR OF SALVATION.

1. We are living in the day of Grace.

Tit 2:11 For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,

2Pe 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is

longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any shouldperish, but that all should come to repentance.

2Co 6:2 (For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation

have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.)

ILL: Noah preached 120 years. (Then God closed the door)

Ge 7:16 And they that went in, went in male and female of all flesh, as God had commanded him: and the LORD shut him in.

He can Close the door by:

1. Withdrawing his Convicting Spirit.

The Spirit draws us to God.

2. Sending Jesus to claim his own.

Mt 25:1 Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom.

V.10 And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut. 11. Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us.

3. By Reaping your Soul in Death!

Ac 14:27 And when they were come, and had gathered the church together, they rehearsed all that God had done with them, and how he had opened the door of faith unto the Gentiles.

2Co 2:12 Furthermore, when I came to Troas to preach Christ's gospel and a door was opened unto me of the Lord,

1. By Withdrawing his blessings upon your Health

2. God can close the Door by Shutting the Open Door...

  • The Freedom we have to Preach and Teach and win souls: could be shut

    • I Co 16:9 For a great door and effectual is opened unto me, and there are many adversaries.

    Eph 5:16 Redeeming the time, because the days are evil. 17. Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.

    2. By Calling us Home for an account.. (ILL> Parable of the pound)

        What will we say:

    1. Didn't have the time:

    2. Job got in the way:

    3. Didn't feel like it:

    4. Didn't get results:

    Ro 14:10 But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ.

    11. For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God

    12. So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God

    THE DOOR OF OPPORTUNITY WILL BE SHUT!!
