Almira (Alma) Irene Cates
The mother of Ray Cox was Almira Irene Cates a.k.a. Alma Curtis. Almira was born Apr.6, 1892 in Illinois, I believe Fayette Co., she was the daughter of John Walter Cates and Lavina Mary Akeman. She married Emery Elsworth Cox, date and place unknown, they had four children, Ray who married Dorothy Ione Ricketts, Dora Mae Cox who married William Oliver Ort, Bill Cox and Edward Cox.
